"I travelled 1000 km to enter Kosovo." IOM's daily interviews with migrants feed into mainstream public reporting on migration in Kosovo.

Pristina – April 18. “I traveled 1000 km to enter Kosovo and find work. I have been living in Pristina for 3 months already. Here, I found a job that I like, better working conditions, good colleagues, and management that provides us with what we need most, a decent salary, accommodation, and food”.

Md Momen, from Bangladesh, is one of the migrants interviewed by the IOM Kosovo Team who works daily to collect information and data in the field. This data is analyzed through the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) in the IOM Office in Pristina to produce public surveys and reports on migrants traveling to Kosovo which represent key documents for local authorities, donors, partners, and international organizations.

The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) is a tool conceptualized by the IOM in 2004 to collect and analyze data about the mobility, vulnerabilities, and needs of displaced and mobile populations.

Today, IOM DTM reports are an essential tool for the Governments of 80 countries around the world.

In Kosovo, these reports are public and represent key documents for local authorities, donors, partners, and international organizations.
