IOM handed over today a vehicle to the Kosovo Police Department for the Investigation of Trafficking in Human Beings in support of joint efforts to increase the effectiveness of tracking down leads and investigating potential cases.

Trafficking in human beings is a violation of human rights, and the investigation of these crimes requires a lot of resources. The vehicle will be used for the police department's anti-trafficking efforts, specifically, it will be used for the investigation of crimes and transportation of victims of trafficking from police stations to particular shelters, hospitals, prosecution offices, and courts.

The donation is significant for the police authorities not only for the sake of strengthening their assets but also as a demonstration of the importance of partnership with a shared goal of creating a safer environment for all.

The donation was supported by the โ€œWestern Balkans Joint Actions Against Smuggling of Migrants and Trafficking in Human Beingsโ€ #WBJAST project, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
