Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. This is a start-up business composed of 10 workers of different ethnicities, who offer on-call services 24 hours per day to clients for different work related to repair and construction within the households (electric, water and sewage installations and repairs, sanitary works, kitchen assembling, locksmith services, carpentry replacement, etc.). Through grant award, respectively purchase of different tools and equipment, beneficiaries improved quantity of work and quality of services. As a part of the programme, the company is offering their services to the social assistance beneficiaries or to persons with disabilities free of charge. The company will also in the future closely cooperate with Municipal Employment Centers in order to find and train long-term unemployed people who are willing to develop or improve their skills facilitating to find jobs and to be more competitive on Kosovo labour market.
This project is a part of IOMs programme Business and Social Support and Integration, which aims to foster integration of mainly minority enterprises into national institutions and Kosovo market. Initially, IOM published open call for proposals within grants scheme for business ideas and social initiatives respecting criteria of multi-ethnicity and social impact, and various proposals were supported through the programme.
