Beyond Borders: Samir's Quest for a New Beginning
In a migrant's journey, the road is full of uncertainties and challenges. For people like Samir, a thirty-year-old Algerian, the path to a new life is not just a geographical transition, but a leap towards stability and opportunity.
Samir is currently in a Temporary Reception Center in Kosovo.
"The center helped me stabilize and realistically plan my future."
The Temporary Reception Centre, for migrants like Samir, provides basic services and information in the migrants' languages on the legal framework and regular pathways in planning the next steps of a migrant’s journey.
A comprehensive rights-based approach to facilitating regular pathways gives Samir alternatives to facing situations of vulnerability along irregular migration routes.
The integrity of pathways, including transparency of requirements, is a key aspect of the work of IOM to make migration safe and more accessible.
