Building inclusive societies
IOM is working to highly advance the process of improving the terms on which youth of different communities take an active part in society.
Improving the abilities of youth of all genders and backgrounds and providing them with opportunities that do lead them to a better life and valuable experiences as well as supporting young individuals to feel connected and take an active role in change will also lead them to build healthy and inclusive societies.
To contribute to this process IOM supported four youth initiatives. Four Ideas that were developed and implemented by youth themselves in the municipalities Istog/Istok and Fushë Kosova/Kosovo Polje, Prizren/Prizren, and Malishevë/Mališevo addressed the majority and non-majority youth needs and issues in their communities. Through these initiatives, youth were enabled to come together and share their knowledge about community rights in Kosovo, while tackling the issues of discrimination, advocation for their rights, and multi-ethnic interaction.
The initiatives were facilitated by KYC - Kosovar Youth Council under the project "Building Societal Connections and Support to Reconciliation and Social Cohesion in Kosovo" implemented by IOM Kosovo and funded by British Embassy in Pristina.
