IOM Kosovo continues to support return and reintegration of migrants
IOM Kosovo, through its Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Programme (AVRR), supported the return of a Jordanian migrant to his country of origin after months of being in an irregular situation.
IOM provided the migrant with the travel documents in cooperation with the Embassy of Jordan in Ankara, which covers Kosovo. Before returning, the beneficiary was accommodated in the Temporary Reception Centre for Migrants, where he was provided with food and non-food items and received medical treatment. The beneficiary was provided with AVRR counselling that included information on his rights and the assistance process prior to departure, transit assistance, and arrival assistance, such as in-kind contribution.
During his months in the Reception Centre for Migrants, he was keen to see this experience as an opportunity to grow and was engaging in the day-to-day activities that also helped him follow his passion for reading.
IOM Kosovo is thankful to the IOM staff in Istanbul and for the reception assistance provided by IOM Amman. Through commitment and cooperation, we are able to give a dignified return and foster sustainable reintegration of migrants.
