For many formerly displaced persons in the region, reintegration is not without difficulties.

The ability to generate income is a challenge that many returnees struggle with.

There was a lot of excitement and joy during the week of 24-26 February, when IOM delivered assistance in terms of ‘Income Generation Packages’ to 10 formerly displaced families in the municipalities of Rahovec/Orahovac, Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje, Graçanicë/Gračanica and Novobërd/Novobrdo.

All the beneficiary families received agricultural equipment and seven families received firewood, as well. This support was carried out following the completion of new houses already donated to the families.

Grateful for receiving the assistance, many family members said they could not wait to start using their new agricultural equipment and put it to work.

One of the main priorities of IOM’s Return and Reintegration in Kosovo-phase V (EU-RRK V) project is to ensure that returnee families enjoy a smooth and efficient reintegration process.

The donation was carried out by IOM through the EU-RRK V project, financed by the EU Office in Kosovo and co-financed by the Ministry for Communities and Returns (MCR).
