Meet and compete – basketball tournament
IOM continues to support creation of joint opportunities for youth from different communities.
In cooperation with US KFOR Liaison Military Team, Spirit of America, and local authorities of targeted municipalities, IOM organized a three days multiethnic basketball tournament. The event was attended by a total of 56 boys from Albanian, Serbian, Turkish and RAE communities, from Kamenice/Kamenica, Ranilug/Ranillug, Gjilan/Gnjilane, Novo Brdo/Novoberde, and Fushe Kosove/Kosovo Polje. The first two qualifying playoffs were played at Gjilan/Gnjilane and Llabjan/Labljane sports centers in two separate days. Divided into eight mixed teams, youth had an extraordinary opportunity to compete for the winner's cup of the final game organized at camp Bondsteel.
The aim of this initiative was to foster interaction and create joint opportunities for youth from different communities to come together and advance their cooperation and skills.
