Temporary Reception Centre opened its door to migrants
Temporary Reception Centre opened its door to migrants
01.07.2022, Pristina Temporary Reception Centre opened its doors for the first time to 30 migrants that arrived last week. Just after migrants had been accommodated in the centre, IOM mobile team quickly responded to authorities' needs by assisting them with the registration process. IOM offered interpretation services, food and non-food items, and emergency backpacks, and provided migrants with information about their legal rights, roadmaps, IOM Infoline number where they can call for any support needed at all times, as well as information about Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration #AVRR opportunities.
Exhausted from the journey, migrants felt at ease to have a place to rest and be safe. “A path full of difficulties seems simpler and easier now thanks to how authorities and IOM have treated us. We are indeed very thankful for the reception, kindness, and support that has been given", migrants confided to IOM Mobile Team.
Providing migrants of all genders, ages, abilities, and other diversities, access to safe, orderly, and regular protection-sensitive pathways remains IOM's priority.
The services were provided under the framework of the regional project “Addressing Mixed Migration Flows in the Western Balkans” supported by the Norwegian MFA.
