March 24, 2021 - IOM, European Union Kosovo and Ministry of Internal Affairs officials visited the designated facility in Vranidoll at the municipality of Pristina where a Temporary Reception and Accommodation Centre for incoming migrants and refugees will soon be established.
The architectural design of the facility was presented and adjustments and refurbishment timelines for the new accommodation centre were discussed. This intervention is funded by the European Union Service for Foreign Policy Instruments #EUForeignPolicy through the regional project "Addressing COVID-19 challenges within the migrant and refugee response in the Western Balkans" with the aim to support Kosovo migration authorities with registration, identification and temporary accommodation of new migrant arrivals.
Subsequently, the centre will provide migrants with adequate assistance in terms of interpretation services, basic psychosocial, Infoline services and relevant information about the pandemic including distributing personal protective equipment and disinfection supplies.
The centre will serve as a facility for newly arrived migrants and refugees, with a total capacity of approximately 55 persons.
