VOC-UP presentation and Q&A to foster Return and Reintegration processes in Kosovo
As part of our reintegration activities, the IOM EU-RRK V Program (Return and Reintegration in Kosovo), in collaboration with the Social Inclusion Project and the NGO Center for Social Initiatives delivered a presentation today for VOC-UP, an online language platform that aims to tackle linguistic barriers to communication. Voc-up.com is an innovative and interactive platform created that teaches the languages of Albanian and Serbian to people through a website that is also Android and IOS friendly and that was funded by the British Embassy, Pristina.
The platform was created in an effort to encourage social inclusion through learning the official languages of multi-language communities. Language is an important tool that facilitates necessary communication between different groups and fosters mutual understanding and cooperation. This is relevant to not only institutions but to Kosovo’s youth population and public servants as both groups would benefit tremendously from this platform.
The wider scope of this presentation was to encourage capacity building for monitoring and reporting related to the returns process and community-based development initiatives. This platform will be utilized to benefit the beneficiaries and enable a seamless and effective re-integration process to occur. It will also contribute to enhancing their employment prospects and encourage inter-cultural dialogue between the beneficiaries and members of the existing community. After the presentation, the audience had the opportunity to ask questions and give comments and the event concluded with a small reception.
EU-Return and Reintegration in Kosovo phase V (EU-RRK V) is an EU funded project, co-funded by the Ministry of Communities and Return (MCR) and implemented by IOM.
